 St. Charles School Honors Math Students win big at Math Competitions:

The 7th and 8th grade Honors Math students participated in the IHM Preliminary Contest back in February. Out of over 800 students in each level the following students placed in the top 100 and qualified to participate in the finals: Grade 8: J. Bochnak, J. Contino, J. Jimenez, L. Kirkwood, N. Lenker, A. Pizzo, L. Serna and Grade 7: G. Dwyer, M. Maw, A. McCarthy. These students will participate in the IHM Contest Math Finals in April.

The 6th and 7th grade Honors Math students from St. Charles Borromeo School participated in the Grade School Mathematics Competition sponsored by Holy Ghost Prep and Nazareth Academy High School on Saturday, March 7. In seventh grade Amber M won second place among girls, and Gavin D won third place among boys. In sixth grade, Grace Lwon second place among girls. Other students who received certificates for participation included the following sixth graders: Lorenzo C, Noel K and Anthony M.

These Honors Math students placed in the Holy Ghost Prep/Nazareth Academy High School Junior High School Math competition on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Nazareth Academy High School. There were over 150 participants. We are very proud of the following individual winners: in Grade 7, Amber M placed 2nd among the girls and in Grade 8, Liam K placed 1st among the boys, winning a $1,000 scholarship to Holy Ghost Prep, and Nicole L placed 1st among the girls, winning a $1,000 scholarship to Nazareth Academy High School. We are also proud of our winning teams: in grade 7, 3rd place team included: Gavin D, Moira M, Amber M, and Grace L and in Grade 8, 1st place team included: Joseph B, Jenna C, Liam K, and Nicole L.
